Program Management

Program Management is the process carefully defining what is necessary to be accomplished for the entire project by laying out all the steps (tasks) and identifying the resources and responsibilities (architect, contractor, consultant) required to carry out those steps. This approach requires close collaboration with the Owner to define and organize all of the important elements to successfully achieve the program’s goals. This approach is beneficial for large scale multi dimensional projects.

Estimating

JM Olson Corporation offers estimating on both conceptual and lump sum projects. Our key to project success is our understanding of the value of construction work. JM Olson’s expertise in the competitive market allows us to accurately monitor and predict the material and labor costs on all trades of work.

Conceptual Estimating

Conceptual Estimating is the art of developing functional project budgets based on nominal information through the use of comparable project experience and thorough comprehension of the value of construction work. With an understanding of the expressed project requirements by the owner or designer, JM Olson Corporation is able to create the means, methods, and a format to convey their ideas to a monetary and constructive realization. The process becomes a road map leading to the success of the project.

Value Engineering

Value Engineering is a process in which design, material, construction schedule, and building life cycle costs can be realized and enhanced on a given project to the owner. Value may be quantified in terms of reduction in construction of facility life cycle costs. The JM Olson Corporation process identifies areas of the project via reduced first costs and/or reduced operating costs by providing input throughout the design and construction process.

Scheduling Service

As part of the construction process, a schedule is developed to plan, control and monitor to meet and predict project requirements. The schedule organizes the construction process to meet multiple dates of delivery for construction as well as owner occupancy. Proper and detailed schedules can assist the owner and designer with project changes, phased development, and design planning to meet the owner’s project goals. Both Microsoft Project and Primavera Suretrak software are used.

Constructability and Design Analysis

JM Olson Corporation prides itself on retaining individuals with a strong sense of respect for design and understanding the requirements to turn concept into reality. By working directly with architects and engineers we are able to provide constructability information related to labor quality, material availability, and building system costing to assist in providing economic insight to aid in project design development.
